Our newest "student". Flower Petal is her blog name :)
This is our first week of the new school year. This year we are schooling with Turkey Legs (TL) aged 9, Lizard Legs (LL) aged 7 and flower petal (FP) aged 8 months (blog name by LL). It will be interesting to see how we juggle the school load along with flower petal. Right now we have my parents living with us so they help alot during school but they will be moving out in the next few months. We are again in a Tapestry of Grace Co-op called Tapestry of the Desert. It meets on Wednesday afternoons.

This week we started Bible, Math and Science. We are using Keepers of the Faith Character Series for Bible first this year. http://keepersofthefaith.com/ We are again using Math U See for math. Then for science we have decided to split the boys up. TL is using NOEO Science - Physics II http://www.noeoscience.com/ and LL is using Apologia's Fifth Day of Creation https://apologia.securesites.net/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1.
It was a very easy start so that we could ease into everything again. Our summer was crazy busy and it almost seems a releif to be back in school :) We are also using the workbox system this year but won't start that again until next week. http://www.workboxsystem.com/.

Our co-op is hosting an Art Benefit show for a local family whose son has been diagnosed with a cancer like disease. We are hoping to raise some money to help with the medical bills. LL is creating one of his art pieces to sell.
Here we are doing an experiement about air pressure. When you blow through the straw over the straw in the water the water shoots out the straw! Both boys thought this was great. I did too.
TL is learning about energy. He learned "if you twist a rubber band it has enough energy to twist the pencil around really fast" He also learned "that you can't destroy it or create it" Who creates it? "God"
